Convert SVG to 3D Cookie Cutter
Turn your hand-drawn sketches, iPad illustrations, and vector logos into professional 3D printable cookie and clay cutters. Upload SVG or DXF, set dimensions, and export STLs instantly.
Convert vectors to 3D cutters in 60 seconds
No Blender, Tinkercad, or Fusion 360 required. CutClay handles the complex 3D extrusion, tapering, and offsetting automatically.
Create a Closed Path
Draw your shape in Canva, Procreate, iPad, or Illustrator. Make sure the path is closed (no open ends) and export as a standard `.svg` or `.dxf` file.
Upload & Customize
Drag your file into the Studio. Drag sliders to adjust cutting depth, blade thickness, and handle width. See the 3D model regenerate in real time.
Export & 3D Print
Download your watertight STL file. Open in any slicer and start printing your custom custom cutter right away.
Stop fighting with CAD. Automate your workflow.
Traditionally, converting an iPad sketch to a 3D cutter meant importing the file into Fusion 360, manually offsetting vectors to create the cutting walls, extruding multiple sketches, and lofting paths to create a tapered blade. It was a 20-minute process prone to geometry errors.
CutClay Studio automates this entire pipeline. Our SVG parser reads your vector lines, applies robust outer-offset algorithms (using Clipper technology) to preserve the exact inner boundary, and extrudes a perfect dual-blade wall with a comfortable supporting handle.
Vector upload is a **CutClay Pro & Lifetime** feature, but you can try uploading and previewing your custom SVGs in 3D for free before upgrading.
SVG Vector Best Practices
Get clean, error-free 3D models from your drawings.
Closed Outlines Only
Ensure all vectors form closed loops. Open lines or unjoined anchor points will cause rendering issues or missing walls.
No Overlapping Lines
Clean up intersecting loops and self-intersections. Use “Unify” or “Weld” path operations in your design software before exporting.
High Contrast
Keep sketches clean and black-and-white. Outline strokes should be clean and smooth without messy jagged edges.
Units & Scale
Our parser reads vector coordinates. In the Studio, you can rescale the uploaded design to your exact target size in millimeters.
Frequently Asked Questions
What vector formats are supported?
We support standard SVG (`.svg`) files and AutoCAD DXF (`.dxf`) files. You can also upload raster images (PNG, JPG) and use our built-in image tracer.
Does the SVG outline shift inwards?
No. Our offset algorithm expands **only outwards** from your vector line, ensuring that the inner dimensions and shape details remain exactly true to your original drawing.
Can I test it before paying?
Yes! You can upload, parse, and inspect your custom SVG files in the 3D preview completely free. Exporting the STL file requires a Pro subscription.
What if my SVG has multiple inner holes?
Our parser automatically detects nested holes (e.g. the center of an “O” or a donut shape) and cuts them cleanly, creating support bars where necessary.
