Recommended settings for polymer clay earring cutters
Size: 30–50mm is the standard range for drop earrings. Start at 35–40mm for your first cutter.
Wall thickness: 2mm is standard. Go to 2.2–2.5mm for cutters you’ll use in high-volume production. Thinner than 1.8mm is fragile.
Cutter height: 14mm works for virtually all polymer clay thicknesses (2–3mm sheets). No need to go taller for clay work.
Filament: PETG for production cutters. It’s more heat-resistant than PLA (important near a heat gun), more durable, and lasts longer under daily use. PLA is fine for prototyping.
Post hole: 1.8mm diameter is the standard for most jump ring sizes. Position it centered at the top, at least 3.5mm from the cutter edge.
